Peterborough Jobs Fair - learn about becoming a foster carer

Nexus Fostering will be attending the Peterborough evening jobs fair this May. Our team will be there to chat with anyone interested in learning more about fostering and to explore whether a career in fostering could be right for them.

We are looking for people aged 21 and over with a spare room in their home who have a genuine desire to help children and young people achieve positive outcomes. As a foster carer, you are helping support a child in your own home and helping them with their physical and emotional well-being. We are particularly looking for people across Cambridgeshire who can support children of all ages and from all backgrounds, cultures and religions.

Is it free to attend and do I need a ticket? Yes, it’s free entry, click here to register your free ticket via Eventbrite and bring this on the day for scanning. 

Is there car parking at the event? Limited spaces onsite. Please source alternative parking if travelling by car.

What will I learn? We will be able to provide information on the fostering process, assessment, training and the support we offer people who join us as foster carers.

Can I apply on the day? You can enquire on the day to become a foster carer. We will then arrange a follow-up call soon after to run through some questions with you and check your suitability to become a foster carer. If you are successful, we can arrange the next steps in the application process.

What if I'm not ready to foster? That's fine, we can arrange a follow-up call at a later date when you feel ready to explore fostering again. We are always at the end of the phone to help answer any questions during this time.
