Nexus Fostering staff raise money for Movember

The razors were officially down this November at Nexus Fostering!
Colleagues from our Midlands and West team, including Anthony, Area Manager of our Gloucester team, and fostering colleagues Scott, Ed, and Lewis, took on the challenge of growing moustaches in support of Movember,  a movement dedicated to raising awareness for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

While some impressive moustaches emerged… others were definitely a little more “questionable” (their words, not ours!) But that’s all part of the fun, and most importantly, the meaning behind it.

More than a moustache

For our Nexus colleagues, this wasn’t just a chance to grow some striking facial hair. It was a chance to start conversations that matter.

Movember is about shining a light on issues many men struggle to talk about, such as men's mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

By taking part, our team showed that sometimes the smallest actions, even growing a moustache, can spark meaningful discussions that truly save lives.

Supporting a cause close to many hearts

With plenty of jokes, supportive messages, and even a few moustache-themed comments from across the Nexus family, the team were blown away by the generosity of everyone who donated.

Thanks to colleagues, friends, family, and supporters… A total of £675 was raised for Movember!

This money will contribute towards vital research, support programmes, cancer awareness, and life-changing mental health initiatives for men.

A huge well done to our Midlands and West Team!

We’re incredibly proud of Ant, Scott, Ed, and Lewis for championing such an important cause, and for bravely facing the world with their “facial furniture” for the whole month!

Men’s health affects all of us, brothers, dads, partners, sons, colleagues, and friends. Whether through fundraising, encouraging someone to talk, or simply checking in on the people around us, we can all make a difference.

Thank you again to everyone involved and to everyone who supported the team.
