At Nexus Fostering we provide local authorities with Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and well-supported fostering placements for children and young people with foster carers who are trained and able to care for complex children and young people who present a variety of challenges.
“I would just like to write to praise the carers for all their hard work, effort and investment in the child which has been so positive for her and has achieved such positive outcomes. A huge well done and thank you for all your help at Nexus, and to the carers especially. They are brilliant carers and I wish them all the best in their future placements; which I hope will be some of my clients. Thanks!” – Norfolk County Council
“Children have been in their care since October 2009 and it is clear that they have thrived and make good progress regarding their education, health and emotional wellbeing which is testament to the work, commitment and the patience of the carer” – London Borough of Hillingdon
“I would whole heartedly recommend these carers’ continued approval as foster carers and would have no doubts if placing any other child in their care. You rarely see foster carers with such obvious dedication and commitment to the children in their care.” – Worcestershire County Council
“These Nexus foster carers have promoted the children’s welfare to a high standard and their needs have been met to a very high standard. Both carers have demonstrated excellent commitment to the children and have worked in partnership with all agencies. I would strongly support them to continue as carers and would love to work with them in the future. Well done to them both.” – Birmingham City Council
We also offer a placements service for:
- Parent and child
- Specialist therapeutic care through Nexus Care+
More About Nexus Care+
Nexus Care+ provides specialist wraparound placements for children and young people with complex attachment problems and challenging behaviours. These children are likely to have experienced significant early neglect and traumatic episodes including multiple placement disruptions. Nexus Care+ foster carers learn to respond therapeutically, becoming effective and resilient in their work with challenging behaviour and emotional trauma. This provides consistency, safety and security so the child or young person can settle, grow and thrive. More information can be found in this booklet.
All local authority social workers receive detailed and professional reports for each child in placement with Nexus Foster Carers, using the ‘Five Outcomes of Every Child Matters’, summarising key events, achievements and any recommendations.
We specialise in making placements on a permanent basis and have an excellent record of making successful permanent placements as well as converting short-term placements into permanent ones. Nexus Fostering can provide a wide range of additional services, such as:
- Leaving care
- Review forms
- Direct work
- Therapeutic support
The most important thing for us is the outcome for looked after children. To this end, children and young people are provided with easily accessible and helpful information before they move to the Foster Carers. This helps them settle into their foster home and understand how their Foster Carers will look after them.
“I would like to say an enormous thank you to the fantastic Nexus crew; you have always made me feel very welcome and supported. You truly are a great team and so obviously take great care and pride in your work” – Play Therapist, Ealing Council
