Who can foster young people in Cambridgeshire?

We are always looking for foster carers in Cambridgeshire especially in areas such as Peterborough, March, Newmarket, Huntingdon, Wisbech and of course Cambridge itself. In particular we are looking for people who can offer commitment and the determination to make a difference to the lives of children and young people.

To be a foster carer with Nexus Fostering you do need the following practical requirements and skills:

  • A spare bedroom 
  • Tolerance, determination, optimism, resilience and a good sense of humour
  • Enthusiasm, commitment & stability
  • Prepared to foster from a wide age range
  • Open to receiving advice and guidance from other professionals around you

  • Training in all aspects of looking after a young person in your home
  • Opportunities to meet other Nexus Fostering foster carers 
  • Nexus events for you, your foster child and your own family
  • 24/7 out of hours support line
