Zahra’s found her niche with Nexus Fostering

9 March 2017

“I was so nervous about answering the telephone when I first joined Nexus Fostering, but now I’m very comfortable and confident and answering calls is probably my favourite part of my role; I love talking to people and making them feel at ease.” Explains Zahra

I got the job!

“Life takes you in so many different directions. At school, my favourite subjects were Art, Business Studies, History and English, but when I moved on to sixth form college, I studied a level 2 BTEC course in Art and Design at Harrow College. Although I loved the course, I decided I would much prefer an apprenticeship so I looked at the Government’s apprenticeship website, found the Nexus Fostering role and luckily, I was the successful applicant!”

“Apprenticeships are great as they are ‘hands on’ as you are experiencing what you’re studying in a real work environment, this helps extremely with my course work and helps to make sense of what I am doing and why.”

I love it here!

“I love everything about my role here and the team is so lovely and friendly, I can’t think of a nicer place to work. Before coming here, I did a stint in retail with Debenhams, but I knew it wasn’t for me, I love it here!”
