Nexus Fostering was established in 2005 to address the shortage of foster carers in the region. From the outset we decided that Nexus Fostering would be set up by social workers and run by social workers and this is still the case today. We are still a regional provider and as we have grown we have not lost sight of our main purpose which is to provide top quality support to our foster carers so they can in turn provide the support needed for young people in their care.
We now have teams of social workers across the Nexus region who provide local training and support for our foster carers so wherever you live there is always support nearby. We cover a wide range of fostering types including long term fostering and more specialist fostering such as parent and child fostering.
We are always looking for foster carers from the Northampton area from different backgrounds; couple – whether married or living together – with or without children, single people and divorced people. We prefer to place children with foster carers who reflect their own backgrounds so we need carers from all cultures and religions.
You will find fostering challenging but with great rewards and a role where you can make a real difference to young people.
At Nexus Fostering, we recognise that fostering is a demanding job. That’s why when you join us we will ensure that you and the children you are looking after have all the support you need. We treat every single looked after child and fostering family as individuals and we seek to bring out the best in each person by providing outstanding care and support. Everything we do has the best interest of the looked after child at it’s centre.

Northampton has one of Europe’s largest historic market squares with shops to suit every taste. There is a real contrast between traditional and modern in the town and performance and visual arts venues right on the doorstep such as the Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.
There are many interesting attractions locally such as Heritage Walks, The Guildhall and The Grosvenor Centre. There is also fun for all the family at the well known zoo Wicksteed Park in nearby Kettering.
