Dianne and her husband David, from Nottingham, have fostered 13 children plus 4 children on respite placements, a total of 7 sibling groups over the past 5 years. One of their placements, now 3-year-old twins are with Dianne and David under a special guardianship order (SGO).

Deb discusses her core memories and challenges and explains ‘If I had my time again, I wish I had started my fostering journey sooner.’ Deb and her partner have taken two of their foster children through to the age of 18, with their young man now in a Staying Put arrangement, they now offer respite care.

Ansar and Jehan are long standing foster carers who support unaccompanied asylum seeking children. They have found being foster carers the most spiritually rewarding career they have done.

Over one thousand plastic bottles have been used to make an eco-greenhouse at local school in Nottingham. Pupils and parents at Stanhope Primary school collected 1000 bottles to build the greenhouse for their renovated school garden along with new raised beds.

Nexus Fostering is supporting local Nottingham charity ‘Kids Against Plastic’ latest programme ‘Climate Clever Schools’ with the aim to help schools reduce their climate impact. The first 100 schools to sign up receive a free ‘Be Climate Clever’ book written by founders Ella and Amy Meek.
