Sometimes we all need a change. Maybe you feel unvalued and 'put upon' by your current agency. Or maybe you feel 'pigeon-holed' and you're looking for a new challenge. Whatever your reason for visiting our website, as a foster carer you have the right to move to another agency. So, if you are an approved foster carer who is registered with a fostering provider and you're looking for more support and a better service, we would be delighted to confidentially discuss arranging a transfer to one of our local Ofsted Outstanding-rated foster care teams.
Transfer your approval to Nexus Fostering and you'll join an agency where 'the outstanding leadership is able to create a culture that firmly focuses on achieving the best outcomes for each individual child or young person. Staff and foster carers are inspired to embody and implement the best social care practice in their work.' (Ofsted, 2011).
Many of our foster carers have been with us for years, some since we first started in 2002! Why? Because we know that we need to take care of you, so that you can take care of the children and young people we place into your care! At Nexus Fostering we understand that vital human touch. We are not venture capitalists, we are social workers, and we are as passionate as you in providing the very best care to vulnerable and traumatised children in need. At Nexus, we follow The Fostering Network's Transfer Protocol (2012) that is as follows:
"The protocol recognises the principles of child care legislation and seeks to ensure that safeguarding the welfare of children is at the core of fostering policy and practice. It recognises that the welfare of any child in placement is paramount. Foster carers have the right to freedom of movement between fostering services."

At Nexus Fostering, we understand that, like us, your first consideration will be stability for the children or young people you care for. In most cases, following a protocol meeting, an agreement can be reached for the children to transfer with you and we will maintain the current terms of the placement to you and the placing local authority.
This means you will continue to receive the same level of payment, expenses and services to support the child for the duration of the placement. If you do not have children in placement then the process is straightforward. If you would like to find out more about becoming a Nexus Fostering carer with no pressure and no hard sell, just friendly and confidential advice, complete this form and we'll contact you.
“I knew that I wasn’t happy with my previous fostering provider but I was put off transferring as I didn’t want to go through the whole assessment process again. I called Nexus and the team reassured me that the transition would be straight forward and that my foster child would not be affected by the move. They made everything so easy and took all of the worry out of my hands. I’m so pleased I made the decision in the end and wish I’d transferred to Nexus sooner. “ - Jill, transferring foster carer
We promise never to speak to your existing agency until you have decided to join Nexus and have given us your permission to handle the process for you, quickly and easily.
