Quality Assurance
A raft of legislation, minimum standards and best practice is in place to safeguard and protect the welfare of children in care. It is not infallible, because people are not infallible but if policies, procedures and best practices are implemented in the spirit that they were intended, then children and their foster carers should feel more secure. The main legislation supporting provision of foster care includes:
Fostering Services Regulations 2002 (FSR 2002)
Children Act 1989 (CA 1989)
Care Standards Act 2000 (CSA 2000)
Nexus Fostering has a full set of policies and procedures that are in line with this legislation.
There are five outcomes set out in Every Child Matters and Nexus Fostering was assessed by Ofsted as follows:
1. Being Healthy – Good
2. Staying Safe – Good
3. Enjoying and Achieving – Outstanding
4. Making a Positive Contribution – Outstanding
5. Achieving Economic Well-Being - Good
