Could you foster?
Many children need fostering - babies, toddlers, and all ages through to teenagers. They come from various backgrounds and they are likely to be worried, anxious, scared or angry. Nexus Fostering is asked to find carers to foster children of a wide age range.
We need many different types of foster carers; couples who are married or living together, with or without children, single people, divorced people or lone parents. We prefer to place children with foster carers who reflect and understand the foster child's background so we need carers from all cultures and religions.
We are seeking to recruit carers in:
West and North London
Thames Valley
M4 corridor
Gloucestershire
West Midlands
The East of England including Bedfordshire
Ideally carers will have experience of fostering, employment in children's social work or experience of working with or looking after children outside of their immediate family. The most important thing is that you should enjoy working with and caring for children and young people.
In addition to this experience, foster carers must provide a spare bedroom that can be used exclusively for a foster child. Two placed siblings of the same gender may be able to share a bedroom. As long as a bedroom is available, it does not matter whether the foster home is a house or a flat, in a town or the countryside, rented or owned. Our foster carers must be available to a foster child whenever needed. This may be during the daytime, if schooling is disrupted.
