Our Foster Carers
Nexus Fostering carers come from various ethnic groups and cultures. They may be single, married or live as a couple. Some work while others are at home; some have children at home, and some have none or have children who have left the family home.
To become a foster carer with Nexus Fostering, you need no specific qualifications other than an enjoyment of children and young people and the ability to provide them with a secure, caring family life and a willingness to attend relevant training courses.
You must have a spare bedroom and be available during the day and ideally have experience of looking after children not your own.
We strive to implement best practice in all areas and this includes the support we provide to our foster carers. This includes:
Regular free training including the NVQ Level 3 award in childcare
Regular support groups
Outings and activities for all the family
Newsletters
Regular fortnightly supervision
Our staff is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year to support our carers. We pride ourselves on the caring, professional attitude of our foster carers.
