We are currently looking for individuals, preferably with a medical background particularly relating to children, to become members of our fostering Panel.

The Panel brings together a pool of individuals with valuable, relevant experience in the field of family placement. From diverse perspectives, they are able to make informed judgments upon the suitability of prospective and current foster carers to provide a high standard of physical and emotional care to children and young people, where their development and potential can be nurtured and actively encouraged.

Panel recommend approval and de-registration of foster carers, and listen to and respond to comments and/or complaints. Members also make recommendations about the first foster carer annual review and any other matters contained in statutory requirements.

In general, Panel takes place every third Wednesday at 10am until completion, approximately 3-5 hours and lunch is provided. Members are not expected to attend every Panel, once a month would suffice. Expenses are paid for attendance, dependant on the agenda, and for mileage/parking/travel/childcare.

If you are interested, CV’s can be sent to for the attention of Lorraine Kitts, Panel Co-Ordinator or call 020 8864 6040 to discuss further.
